Full Moon Gong + Nidra

Experience a Full Moon Sound healing Gong Meditation with the magic of Yoga Nidra guided by Tehila Woosley at Hikina Yoga on February 11th, 2017.

No prior experience, effort or practice is required to participate, everyone welcome!
The Gong does not conflict with any religious beliefs, it simply quiets the mind. Simply relax comfortably and breathe deeply for a healing sound experience of the gong.

Gong Meditations create space for you to relax, rejuvenate and if you are willing, to explore deeper into the understandings of who you are.
See how easy DEEP relaxation can be, just lay back and breathe.. Releasing that which no longer serves you, experiencing bliss and moving forward feeling recharged and re-energized.
We will also utilize medicinal oils, crystal bowls, and other instruments for this sacred journey.

This is an easy and fun event, appropriate for any age or experience level.

Gong are useful in resolving emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs is about spiritual, physical and emotional resolution – opening of doors and windows to the universe, moving around energies, universal energies – to enter a spiritual dimension. The gong is psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction, stimulation of the glandular system, and to break up emotional blockages. Gongs stimulate and resonate all cells in the human body simultaneously and recalibrate the parasympathetic nervous system.

In india it is believed that the sound of the gong created the worlds, and was the primal sound of OM ( ॐ )

“The gong is the sound of creativity itself. One who plays the gong plays the universe.” Yogi bhajan

Sound is vibration that touches every part of our physical being. Sound is heard not only through our ears but also through every cell, every molecule in our bodies. Sound enters the healing equation from several direction: it may alter cellular functions through energetic effects; it may entrain biological systems to function more home statically; it may calm the mind and therefore the body; or it may have emotional effects, which influence neurotransmitters and neuropeptides, which in turn help to regulate the immune system.
From a sacred geometry viewpoint, a circle – the gong’s basic shape - represents a beginning that has no end. It is ever expanding potential and represents our connection with the holographic nature of oneness. Throughout many traditions and cultures, it also stands as symbol for heaven, totally, perfection, unity, eternity, completeness and for inclusive harmony.
In the completely meditative state of being awake while completely asleep (the 4th dimensional gong experience), We increase the re-youthing potential of the innate intelligence without going into unconsciousness. The personal ego is then able to attain a state of non-judgment or neutrality. This is the state of total body/mind harmony.

THE MEANING & MAGIC OF YOGA NIDRA:
YOGA- union, completeness
NIDRA- sleep
YOGA NIDRA is a sleep-based meditation practice using breath, visualization, and relaxation techniques to restore and reset the body physically, mentally and spiritually, returning us to a sense of wholeness.
Yoga nidra is approaching to healing on a physical, mental and spiritual levels.
Yoga nidra is an energetic practice. Even if you do not understand anything in yoga nidra, it does not matter. The sound of my voice acts as a rope. Just as you take a rope and go in and out of the depths of a cave, so with the help of sound, you will venture in and out of the mind.
Yoga nidra helps with Heart rate slows, Breath regulates & Blood vessels dilate sending blood to digestion and the brain.
Yoga nidra and Sleep: Sleep disorders affect over 40 million people in the U.S. alone. It is linked to obesity, diabetes, hypertension, depression and cancer. Practicing yoga nidra for only 20 minutes is measured to 4-5 hours of a deep sleep.
Yoga Nidra boosts these hormones: Seratonin (feel good). Dopamine (pleasure & reward). GABA (brain calming, memory boosting). Melatonin. T Cells (immune defense).

Thank you for being open to the new experiences of the ancient powers of the sound healing instruments and yoga nidra.
