How to do pose: From mountain pose, weight is shifted to one leg, for example, starting with the left leg. The entire sole of the foot balancing on remains in contact with the ground.
The right knee is bent and the right foot placed on the left inner thigh, or in half lotus position.

For a deeper challenge try to grow the tree by raising the hands high into the arm, gaping the hands and the fingers.
Tree Pose Benefits: Calms and focus the mind;  Strengthens the areas of the ankles calves, and thighs;  Opens groin and improves upper body posture; strengths areas of brain responsible for balancing.
