Warrior One Pose - Virabhadrasana A

Warrior 1 Pose - Virabhadrasana A: The Warrior I pose, one of three warrior poses, is named for spiritual warrior inside each of us on our yoga mats. 


The poses is an asymmetrical standing back-bend.  Pose achieved by bending in front knee and raising the arms into the air.

How to do pose: Step your right foot forward. Inhale reach your arms perpendicular to the earth and above the head reaching for the sky. Bend the front knee over the ankle.
Benefits: Pose stretches into the chest, lungs, shoulders, stomach, thighs, and neck.  It strengthens the back and spinal column.  Creates focus in the mind and balance in the soul.
